Mimi Angel Adom Foundation Donates to Nyamedua Children’s
Home In an effort to ease the plight of disadvantaged children in our
communities, staff of the Mimi Angel Adom Foundation a non-governmental
organization with offices in the USA and Ghana on Wednesday, September 12,
2018, made a donation worth thousands of Cedis to the Nyamedua Children’s Home.
The items donated to the orphanage home comprised bags of
rice, gallons of cooking oil, soft drinks, toys, clothes, bags of sachet water,
confectioneries and other toiletries. Speaking on behalf of the Foundation at a
brief presentation ceremony held at the orphanage, Chief Executive Officer of
Mimi Angel Adom Foundation, Miss Agnes Adusei known in media circles as Mimi
Angel, stated that, the donation forms part of her Foundation’s initiative to
support the poor, needy and underprivileged in the society.
Agnes, who also doubles as a radio presenter for Golden
Radio 93.5 FM in Worcester, Massachusetts also indicated that her motivation
for setting up the organization in 2017 was out of sheer passion to give back
to the society to ease the pressure on government. She however maintained that,
though she is currently based in the United States, she is hopeful with the
help of her colleagues in Ghana, she can use her contacts and influence to the
benefits of the children to increase their prospects in life.
Receiving the items on behalf of the delighted children, Mr
Paul Anaba, Founder and General Manager of Nyame Dua Children’s home,
expressing his gratitude opined that the donation will go a long way to help
the inmates at the facility and bolster their depleted supplies. “We have a lot
of shortfalls as an orphanage and this kind gesture will be a great relief for
us.
We are grateful to all those who supported this donation and
made it a reality,” he said. He also used the opportunity to call on other
organizations to come to their aid stating that it is only with such help that
the home can thrive effectively.
The Nyame Dua Children’s home which is located at Ashale
Botwe - Accra is recognized as a foster home by the Department of Social
Welfare. It was established in 2005, and provides shelter for over 30 destitute
and abandoned children.
