ENDURANCE

Image
Endurance is the mental and physical stamina that is measured by your ability to withstand pain, fatigue, stress and hardship.  It is the ability to withstand a prolonged stressful effort or activity. The endurance of a business owner is constantly tested.  Your mental and physical endurance are critical to your ability to make it through another day, another project or the next sales call.  To get you over the hump, think of the bigger picture, think of the reason  that you decided to start your business.

Image
A Winning Mentality Most people are time waisters, they waist their time and everybody else time. There are many things that people do to waste time. Most of it depends on the person. We all do things differently because we are all unique in our ways and have different goals and priorities in life.   CBS Money reported that the top 9 time wasters are. Phone and Texting 50% Gossip 42% Surfing the internet 39% Social Media 38% Snacks and smoke break 27% Meetings 23% Email 23% Co-workers dropping in 23% Co-workers putting calls on speaker phone 1% Some of these may not appear to be distractions on the surface, but these are the percentages of people who reported these things as a distraction to their work. Some of these things are part of our jobs, for example, a social media manager will spend a considerable amount of time on social media but are they doing work or venturing off on personal profiles?

Just Keep Learning and Growing. Just Be Dad.

A Balanced Perspective on Fatherhood  by Brock Griffin As you know, fatherhood is a joy! … and sometimes, not so much. The longer I am a dad, the more I’m humbled about the role.  I talk to more and more men who are having difficulties with their kids, and they really aren’t much different from me. They try to do the right thing, they’re highly devoted to their families, and yet for some reason their kids make a wrong turn. I’ve also seen dads who seem to have everything under control: no problems, life is grand, and dad handles minor issues with a method he learned from a seminar or a great book he read. Often these guys have young children, and they’re excited about their kids, as they should be. I celebrate with those dads, but there’s a part of me that’s torn. On one hand I want to say, “Keep at it dad, and you can expect fatherhood to get better and better.” On the other hand, I want to say, “Yeah, just you wait, buddy.” For all dads, I encourage you to u...
