By Li Peng, President: Huawei Southern Africa Region Rapid advancements in information communications technologies (ICT) over the past 20 years has substantially altered the ways in which people live, work, play and interact with one another. The World Bank’s World Development Report shows that ICT has a positive effect on a country’s economy, with a 10% increase in broadband penetration being associated with a 1.4% increase in gross domestic product (GDP) growth in emerging markets. TRIBUTE TO THE LATE MR. ERNEST MANTE (AKA OSOFO MANTE) FROM THE PCG MOUNT ZION CONGREGATON             Osofo Mante as he was affectionately called has gone ahead of us to join the great army of witnesses who have finished their work here on earth, gone to wait for us and are also urging us on. They are urging us to fight the good fight of faith diligently without giving up as he never gave up. Mr. Ernest Mante has finished the race as Paul put it in 2 Timothy 4:7 and I quote               “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.               Now there is in store for me, a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the               righteous judge will award to me on that day, and not me only, but also all who               have loved his appearing”.             The late Mr. Ernest Mante relocated from New York city to Worcester in early 1999 and joined the First Presbyterian Church of USA (PCUSA) where other Ghanaians were w

TRIBUTE BY NEPHEWS AND NIECES TO THE LATE ERNEST FRED ANKAMA MANTE You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body: you know exactly how I was made, bit by bit how I was sculpted from nothing into something Psalm 139:15 What shall we say ........  Where do we begin to find the words to describe the gap you have left in our lives with your sudden departure?  We are still shaken for we were very hopeful that you were coming back to Ghana as you promised on your last visit to bury your sister. Recollecting how you related to us individually will be a difficult task, but we will be brief in our discussion.  Uncle Fred as we affectionately called him was a strong-willed man with character who fought for the rights of all irrespective of where you came from. He was a great pillar behind the F. G. Ankama family in all moments. We the nephews and nieces have their own cherished and memorable encounters with Osofo Mante. We all at some points in our li

Tribute by Brother and Sisters I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me, the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge will award to me on that day and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Tim 2:7-8 It is with heavy heart and sorrow that we pay this special tribute to our dear brother, Ernest Fred Ankama Mante. We simply called him FRED. You were the central point in the siblings as we counted either from the first or the last. We could recount how as children we always dressed regularly to Sunday School because of the training, we had from our parents who were staunch Presbyterians. We did everything together as we were brought up in an atmosphere of love and respect for each other and the act of God-fearing and unity permeated everything we did as brothers and sisters. Your death came to us as shock and a big surprise from far away in a fore

“You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, and you have kept the faith. From now on the crown of righteousness is laid up for you, whom the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to you on that day—and not only to you but also to all who crave his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:7)” Late Ernest Frederick Ankama Mante, well known as Osofo Mante, Uncle Fred, Mr. Mante was a father of six, the Late Wilson Gyadu Mante, Michael Kofi Gyadu Mante, Esther Safoa Mante, Daniel Mante, Edna Mante and Jessica Mante. It is with heavy hearts that our father left us unexpectedly, leaving this earth and joining the creator in heaven. We all know that you are in a safer and a better place. You were an extra ordinary father, very loving, caring, jovial, disciplined, business minded and much more. We always loved been around you because of the love you have for your children, the jokes and the lovely stories and songs your told us when we were children. You always had a story to tel

Create an atmosphere of peace, joy, power and love with our words.

As You Have Declared Scripture tells us that there is creative power in the words we declare. In the same way that God created the world with His words in Genesis 1, we “create” our own world with our words. We can create an atmosphere of peace, joy, power and love with our words, or we can create an atmosphere of strife, confusion and defeat. Today, I encourage you to use your words to open the door for God to move by declaring His Word over your life. Declare that His strength is at work in you. Declare that no weapon formed against you is going to prosper. As you declare God’s Word over your life, you’ll see it come to pass. You’ll feel His strength, joy and victory rising up inside of you so that you can embrace the life of blessing He has prepared for you. A Prayer for Today “Father, I recognize that there is creative power in the words that I speak. Help me, by Your Spirit, to use my words for good. Remind me to always declare Your truth over my life and over the lives of
